Pre-Order Terms

These terms apply when you place a pre-order with KLAIM Amsterdam. By placing a pre-order, you agree to the following. These terms supplement (and do not replace) our general Terms of Service and Refund Policy.

1. What is a pre-order

A pre-order means the item is not in stock at the moment of your purchase. We produce or source it after your order is placed. Items marked "PRE-ORDER" on the product page are sold under these terms.

2. Two-part payment

Pre-orders at KLAIM are paid in two equal instalments:

  • First payment (50%): charged immediately at checkout. This secures your pre-order and starts production.
  • Second payment (50%): charged before your order ships. You will receive an email with a secure payment link approximately 3–7 days before shipping. The full balance must be paid before we dispatch your order.

The total price shown on the product page is the sum of both instalments. No additional fees apply.

3. Estimated delivery

The estimated shipping window is shown on each pre-order product page (typically 3–4 weeks from order date). This is an estimate, not a guarantee. Production and shipping times can be affected by suppliers, customs, and carriers.

If we expect a significant delay, we will notify you by email. In line with Dutch consumer law (Burgerlijk Wetboek Boek 7), if your order is not shipped within 30 days of the original estimated date, you may request shipment within a reasonable additional period or cancel for a full refund of all payments made.

4. Cancellation before shipping

You may cancel your pre-order before it ships by emailing support@klaimamsterdam.com with your order number. Refund terms:

  • Within 14 days of placing your order: full refund of the first instalment.
  • After 14 days, before shipment: the first instalment is refunded minus a production fee of up to 25% of the first instalment, to cover materials and labour already committed to your order. The exact deduction will be communicated before refund.

This production fee reflects actual costs incurred and is in line with Article 6:230p BW for goods produced or sourced specifically following a consumer order.

5. If the second payment is not completed

We will send up to three reminders for the second instalment, over a period of 14 days. If the second payment is not completed within 14 days of the first reminder, we reserve the right to:

  • cancel your pre-order, and
  • refund the first instalment minus the production fee described in Section 4.

We will not ship any pre-order until the full balance has been paid.

6. Right of withdrawal (herroepingsrecht)

As a consumer based in the EU, you have a statutory right of withdrawal of 14 days starting from the day you (or a third party named by you) receive your order. To exercise this right, contact us at support@klaimamsterdam.com with your order number and a clear statement of withdrawal. You will receive a full refund within 14 days of us receiving the returned item in its original condition. Return shipping costs are at your expense.

7. Refunds

Refunds are issued to the original payment method used at checkout (Klarna, Riverty, iDEAL, credit card, etc.). Processing time depends on your payment provider and bank, typically 5–10 business days after we initiate the refund.

8. Limited and exclusive drops

Some pre-orders are limited-edition drops with restricted production runs. Once we close the pre-order window, additional units may not become available. Order confirmations are final once placed (subject to your cancellation and withdrawal rights above).

9. Questions or disputes

For any questions about your pre-order, contact us first at support@klaimamsterdam.com. We aim to respond within 24 hours on business days. If you have an unresolved complaint, you can also use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/odr.
